The purpose of this blog is to help those grappling with the existence of God consolidate their thinking and reach the conviction that God does indeed exist—and that God is our Creator and Saviour.
I do not aim to debate those who hold alternative views. I fully respect that people may arrive at different conclusions. My aim is simply to present a progressive case for God, based on a range of propositions that I believe are both evidential and persuasive. I believe in God.
A SERIES OF REFLECTIONS
This blog consists of short summaries, each outlining a part of the overall case. Taken together, I hope they will present a logical and rational path to the conclusion that God exists. Of course, mysteries and uncertainties will remain. That is the nature of engaging our natural, limited perspective with the supernatural reality of God.

FINE TUNING AND ORDER OF THE UNIVERSE
Let’s begin with the extraordinary structure and fine tuning of the universe.
We live in an immense expanse of space that defies ordinary human concepts of size and scale. The universe, we are told, began with the Big Bang—a moment when space, time, and matter came into being from nothing.
But how can something come out of nothing without intervention? This question sits at the heart of the inquiry.
Scientists were initially wary of the Big Bang model because it proposed a distinct beginning of the universe, mirroring the biblical Book of Genesis; strongly suggesting the need for a divine creator. However, it is now the standard cosmological theory.
Within the universe are galaxies—vast regions filled with solar systems, stars, planets, and other cosmic bodies. Our own solar system, which includes the Earth, is located in the Milky Way galaxy. Within that, the Earth is like a grain of sand on a beach. It is estimated that there are at least 100 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy. Our sun (a relatively small star) is dwarfed by many others in the cosmos.
BALANCE, DESIGN AND PURPOSE
Despite its vastness, the universe is finely balanced to sustain existence. If even a single variable—like the force of gravity—were slightly different, the universe would either explode or implode. Instead, we find design, control, and order—conditions required for life – without which there would be chaos.
We have absolutely no control over the universe, nor its longevity.
This order strongly suggests the presence of a Creator—an intelligent force who designed and sustains the universe. I refer to this being as God.
Earth, uniquely, contains the precise combination of minerals and elements needed to sustain life. Other known planets do not possess this delicate balance. Intelligent life exists here—and intelligence, by definition, must arise from a source that is even more intelligent.
IMPLICATIONS
Everything natural that exists must have come from somewhere. Every created thing must trace back to an original cause. For those of us who believe, that cause is God—all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present.
Some atheists struggle to explain the fine-tuning and origin of the universe without appealing to randomness or coincidence. They sometimes argue necessity, a multiverse scenario where our universe just happened to get it right, or no explanation at all. But to me, the precision and intentionality point unmistakably to God.
FINAL THOUGHTS
In this series, I will not delve deeply into scientific proofs or technical arguments. Many excellent sources online can do that far more comprehensively. Instead, I will present a clear, progressive case rooted in reason, reflection, and belief.
We are left with the question – which is more logical and plausible, that God created the universe and intelligent life of His own free will, or the universe somehow arose out of nothing and intelligent life formed itself?
Thank you for reading this first blog. I hope it sparks thought, reflection, and perhaps even conviction.
